Procedures to Avail the Service

Eligibility

A person holding valid national1 driving license
A foreigner wishing to endorse their license to drive in Bhutan
fulfilling the test requirement for license endorsement

National Driving License: A person holding national driving license must have six months endorsement gap

Documents Required

Procedures to Avail the Service:

Driving test booking e-receipt
Copy of Driving License
training completion certificate issued by the authorized training institutes for PDL and power tiller and farm tractor driving license (Certified candidates don(t) have to undergo tests for the purpose of license endorsement)
undergo any test which the Authority may require for license variation
provide one recent passport size photograph and Fill in an application Form-I

A Foreigner must produce:

A valid work permit or visa;
Valid original driving license for verification
Pay fees as prescribed in Schedule-I of the Regulations
Produce a verification letter from the company or owner confirming employment with the company or business or
Valid Trader’s card/business license issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs

Turn Around Time (TAT)

The TAT for issuance of driving license is 3 days since the license holder must undergo driving test for endorsement of that particular drive type

Fees and Payment Procedure

Nu. 700 for Professional Driving License
Nu.100 for endorsement of every drive type + Nu.100 for PVC (License card).
